Dotan Saguy, an award winning photographer and author of three published photobooks, brings a unique perspective to the workshop. Having spent his formative years in France and vacationing regularly in the region, Dotan's intimate knowledge of Provence, coupled with his keen eye for street photography and native French speaking promises a transformative experience.
Gail Fisher, a distinguished veteran from National Geographic and the Los Angeles Times, is revered for her documentary photography, visual storytelling and expert photo editing.
With Gail's and Dotan's guidance, participants will learn the art of crafting compelling visual narratives, an invaluable skill for them to acquire and apply to all their future travel adventures.

Make your own photobook
On the last day of the workshop you will be coached in the creation of your own photobook using your best images from the week. Beyond a unique learning experience, this day-long process of editing, processing, sequencing and laying out your own photobook will result in a finished product of your work ready for the press, that you can cherish for years to come and share with your loved ones.

Arrive Sunday evening October 27th by TGV speed train from Paris, the workshop begins Monday morning October 28th, with a closing night dinner on October 4th, check out on November 5th and optionally head to Paris Photo with us for a VIP visit.

Visit Paris Photo as our VIP guest ($400 optional add-on)
Paris Photo, located in the newly renovated Grand Palais by the Champs Elysées, is the largest and most prestigious photo fair in the world. The workshop is perfectly scheduled to accommodate for visiting the fair afterwards. Paris Photo is open to visitors from Thursday November 7 to Sunday November 10. As a participant to the Provence workshop you can opt for a VIP add-on that includes:
VIP tickets (includes +1) valid for the entire duration of the fair.
Access to the prestigious vernissage held the afternoon before the official opening to the public. A unique opportunity for collectors, curators, artists, and VIP guests to experience the fair before the crowds arrive.
Invitation to a cocktail hour in the fair's VIP bar with other workshop attendees
Private guided tour of the fair by an official Paris Photo curator.
Excursion to Polycopies, the sister fair dedicated to independent publishers, which is hosted on a docked boat on the river Seine.

Gail and Dotan's teaching styles complement each other perfectly and so do their areas of expertise. The two of them will be with you all day every day: presenting, coaching, providing feedback in the field, and conducting honest, constructive critique sessions.

Two instructors for 8 full days. Your instructors will be available all day, every day for the duration of the workshop, so you get the personalized attention you need to take your photography to the next level.
9 nights of Hotel Accommodations at a centrally located and luxuruous 4-star establishment. This includes the night before the start of the workshop so we can get started with everyone fully refreshed the next morning.

Our base price already includes a very comfortable "Classique" room (20 sq/m or 215 sq/ft) with queen bed, desk, spacious bathroom with shower, minibar, safe, A/C, TV, free wi-fi and entrance through the charming courtyard/garden area. Note that this base price is subject to availability.

Who should attend
The photography workshop requires participants to be in good physical shape to undertake moderate hikes, including steep uphill climbs, long staircases, and navigating uneven terrain such as unpaved trails and cobblestone streets. All levels of photography expertise are welcome, from beginners to professionals; however, proficiency in operating photography equipment is essential, as the workshop will not provide instruction on using your photography gear. Participants must bring a laptop and a hard drive to facilitate the downloading, editing, and processing of images during the workshop.
